Listen to Souterrain from Judo's forth commin album on Bandcamp now

Birmingham born, Judo Being, aka James Burnham, is a multi-instrumentalist, producer.

During a trip to Frankfurt in 1988 he encountered a radio station playing deep Techno that would change the way that he thought about Contemporary Music. Other influences over this period would include Castle Morton Festival Spiral Tribe, Circus Warp and 808 State's album NuBuild.

Soon after Judo was learning how to record music using four track and Atari ST. His interest in Krautrock bands like Can, Neu, Faust, Ashra Temple, Amon Düül II inspired him to sound craft and mix organic and electronic sounds together.

In 2000, he started working with Lawrence Ash and launched Fortress 5 Studio. This gave Judo the opportunity to jump head first into an analogue based sound recording studio.

In 2002 he went on to become a Bass Player for London-based Mystery School Ensemble on Artifact Records. Judo ran an internet radio station, Unauthorized Radio, leading to gigs at Eastern Haze Club Stage and The Unauthorized Party's. This was follwed by realease on:

Sweet Rains Records LLC

Artifial Silence
